Bluetooth missing from Device Manager

To fix the issue of Bluetooth missing from Device Manager in your PC, try these solutions:


Troubleshooting First step:-

Scan for Hardware Changes: 

In Device Manager, right-click on your PC name and select Scan for hardware changes. This prompts Windows to detect and install the Bluetooth Driver scan for Hardware Changes

This action forces Windows to re-scan for hardware and may detect the missing Bluetooth adapter.


  •  Open Device Manager.
  •  Click on Action in the menu bar.
  •  Select Scan for hardware changes.

 Update or Reinstall Bluetooth Drivers

If the driver is corrupted or outdated, it can cause the adapter to disappear.


If you can see the Bluetooth adapter (after showing hidden devices):

  •  Right-click on the Bluetooth adapter.
  •  Select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for drivers.
Disable and Enable Bluetooth Device:- Disable the Bluetooth device in Device Manager and then enable it again.

If the Bluetooth adapter is completely gone:

  •   Visit your computer manufacturer's website (e.g., Dell, HP, Lenovo).
  •   Search for your specific computer model.
  •  Visit the support or drivers section and obtain the most recent Bluetooth drivers compatible with your operating system.
  •   Run the installer to manually install the driver.

If not solved follow Second step:-

  • Press `Win + R`, 
  • type `services.msc`, 
  •  locate the service
  • Right-click on it
  •  select Properties
  •  Set the startup type to Automatic
  • Restart your computer.

Third method:-

Run Bluetooth Troubleshooter: 

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Bluetooth > Run the troubleshooter. Follow the instructions to fix detected issues .

Driver-Related Solutions

Update Bluetooth Drivers:

 Download and install the latest Bluetooth driver from the manufacturer's website or Intel's official website. Restart your computer after installation.

Reinstall Bluetooth Drivers: 

Remove the current Bluetooth driver, restart your computer, and allow Windows to reinstall the driver on its own.

Additional Fixes

Restart Bluetooth Support Service: Restart the Bluetooth Support Service to fix connectivity issues.
